Values and Personal Philosophy
Life and Death
With my life expectancy at roughly 80 years, I'm % of the way there. Still, tomorrow is not guaranteed and it is most important not to count the days, but to make the days count. I take this to mean to aspire for internal achievement of appreciation and presence. With each passing day death nears ever closer and being reminded of this often helps to prepare for a good death through meeting the prerequisite of a good life.
Purpose
I aim to serve others through provision and protection. With this in mind, I explore to uncover challenges. For challenges facilitate growth and I am then better able to serve. In doing all I can for those around me, and accepting that which is out of my control, I am rewarded with peace of mind. Through this peace, I can presently experience the beauty of life - the absurdity of the infinite complexity that aggregates to form our reality.
Relationships
Further, those around me play a crucial role in ensuring I am able and willing to continue in this pursuit. I hope to engage in a virtuous cycle where our respective successes serve as inspiration for one another to further grow, and our respective love serves as support for that growth. With this support first materializing as invigoration to act on the inspiration, and then as rejuvenation from the effort put forth. We can then sustainably grow alongside one other.
